Bulletin Boards and Broken Bones
Wanted my room to look nice for my new students but in the process of completing my bulletin board I fell and broke my arm. As they wheeled me upstairs to my room for surgery the next morning I was in tears. They consoled me because they thought I was scared about the operation but I let them know it was because I wouldn't be there to greet my kids on the first day! Hopefully I will be back very soon and thank you to Mrs. Bebout for holding down the fort for me. I loved the get well cards that came in the mail today!

A Couple of My Own Art Projects
This summer I participate in Summer Institue at Brandon Spring at the south end of the trace. One of the fun projects we did with Ike and Charlotte Irwin was a marblized wooden book. It was a wonderful process and the completed project turned out pretty nice. I also was asked to design the logo for this year's institute and below is the finished design.
A New Year and More Changes
Another year is fast approaching and with the start of the 2009/2010 school year we are once again faced with several changes throughout the building. The biggest change for the art department has been a drastic cut in monies. Because the budget has been cut in half students will be asked to bring some of their own supplies in order for us to do the hands on projects that make art so much fun. A list will be distributed the first day of class and students will be expected to bring those materials in within the first two weeks of school. The list is as follows:
Markers
Colored pencils
regular pencils
glue stick
2 sheets of posterboard (lrg size)
Large eraser
There is also a big change in offices for staff and administrators. I'm not even sure where everyone will be but I do know that when you come back to school your head will be spinning trying to figure out who is where.
The cafeteria is also going to have some big changes. More to come on that.
The art room is still up the ramp in room 19. I'm excited to start this new year and can't wait to greet each and every one of you with a big smile and a fun school year ahead.
